Being a good girl for Mommy.

Being a good girl for Mommy.

Thought I’d do a Dolce update since I haven’t done one in a long time. There she is relaxing on my bed like she owns it.

Dolce is so sick right now. Currently, she’s wrapped up in my jacket sleeping on the couch. Her pain medications are making her so groggy. She doesn’t want to eat any food or drink water. Basically, Dolce has been having lameness in her leg for the past three days. Sometimes she hurts herself while playing, so Will and I usually don’t worry when she starts hopping on three legs instead of four. This time, however, her leg has been lame for more than three days, so we went to the vet. After an x-ray, the vet told us that Dolce’s cruciate ligament patellar is damaged, which is the equivalent to a human ripping his/her ACL. If she gets better in a week or two, it’s good news for us - it means that Dolce’s knee will heal pretty much on its own. But if she isn’t better, she will have to get surgery. The surgery is estimated to be around $1700 at the least. Will and I don’t have that kind of money at all. I have a job and everything, but I definitely don’t make enough to cover a $1700 surgery. We definitely don’t want to put her up for adoption because she’s become such an important part of lives. Plus, a lot of those places put the dog to sleep if someone doesn’t adopt them within a few months. Just thinking about that happening makes me so incredibly sad. I’m praying that her leg heals within a week or so. I’ve only had her since May of last year, but I can’t imagine my life without her. :(

Dolce’s life is on the line for the next two weeks. I didn’t think her injury was life threatening, but the vet told us that it was.

I’m freaking out.

Dolce just got a hurrcut yesterday afternoon.

About to snuggle up with Dolce and watch some Sailor Moon.

What a good way to end the night.
